Entry MFA - A Revolution In Digital Security

Entry is Synapser’s flagship product: a mobile device-based, multi-factor authentication (MFA) system that secures your digital identity and gives you total control over your private data. Entry MFA is an authentication system that protects all applications within the Synapser ecosystem, reducing the risk of digital theft.

Secure your digital identity!

Your ‘Digital Identity’ refers to the unique data used to identify you in the digital world. This can include personal information such as your name, address, birthdate, social security number, email address, online account credentials and biometric data. Managing your digital identity is critical for maintaining security in your online transactions.

Unfortunately, as we progress further into the digital age, there has been an increase in cybercrimes, with cybercriminals finding new ways to breach confidential data. The problem lies in older solutions, such as passwords, 2-factor authentication, and one-time pins, becoming outdated and less secure. Now, more than ever, it is important to secure your digital identity and protect your personal data.

So how does it work exactly?

Entry MFA creates a unique digital DNA of your mobile device that is used to authenticate the user every time you access the application. Furthermore, a unique code that authorises user access is generated for each transaction and is never shared with anyone, meaning it cannot be shared or coerced from the user, and there is no chance of it being stolen at any stage by over-the-shoulder copying or hackers.

“In simple terms, imagine every time you leave your house, your key is destroyed. Your locksmith (Entry) then changes your locks and creates a new key, which you then acquire for a single re-entry - nobody else, not even the locksmith, has access to the key once it has been created. This process is automatically replicated every time you need access to your house.”

When registering with Entry, you will be asked to provide personal details about yourself to build up your profile. This includes the following: your full name, a self-portrait photograph, and the number of either your national identification document or passport. Depending on which number you provide, you will additionally be required to upload a photograph of that relevant document, verifying that you are who you claim to be. The Entry software analyses the document and matches your personal details that you provide during the registration process. This additional layer of verification secures your digital identity, ensuring a secure and trustworthy experience in the digital world and placing you in full control of your online transactions.

Additionally, Entry MFA is compatible with your mobile device’s built-in biometrics, be it fingerprint scanning or facial recognition. All critical user data is stored in an encrypted log in the Synapser Virtual Private Cloud on Amazon Web Services and never locally on your device. This ensures that there are 3 layers of encryption protecting your data.

Entry Plugins

Plugin: Windows Custom Credential Provider

  • 1&2: Microsoft's Active Directory is the most common credential management system used by companies worldwide, whether it be On-Prem or Remote Access. The issues remain the same; a username and password are required to authenticate. Unfortunately, most hacking-related breaches result from stolen or weak passwords and not from inadequate system security.

  • 1.5&2.5: Entry WCCP - Windows Custom Credential Provider plugin enables companies to integrate Entry into their existing AD service. Dependant on the 'client', On-Prem (2.5*) or cloud (1.5*) infrastructure is installed, to receive login requests from devices (1*&2*) as well as passthrough authentication validation that can receive confirmation from Entry Secure Cloud infrastructure (4*) before granting access to users.

  • 3: All access is controlled through the AWS Gateway, ensuring the system is highly secure and scalable to meet our customers' demands.

  • 4: Entry's secure cloud infrastructure has all system functions and databases isolated within a Secure VPC (Virtual Private Cloud) which are encrypted at rest. This makes it impossible for our systems to be accessed outside of our environment and ensures the secure authentication of customers users.

  • 5&6: Entry's corporate credential management features allow the system to be configured to either let users log in themselves or enable supervisors to log in should it be required.

  • 7: Every login is geolocated and recorded in the systems forensic log. Companies can analyse any suspicious activities from locations that should not be on their network.
